    Smart Objects
    Content Aware Scaling
    CMYK(über important)
    Needs Liquid Rescale by default
Needs layer styles by default (available, but not by default)
Better lighting. The current scheme doesn't feel right.
Photoshop kills GIMP in various effect rendering times.

The rest are just subjective things like layout and hotkeys. But, if anything, something I make in Photoshop can be imported into nearly every other Adobe application and retain its properties, history, and hidden attributes. That, my friend, is what makes Photoshop a killer application for me.

This is relevant; the image was made entirely within Photoshop using features found natively to illustrate the versatility of the program. Photoshop has a wider-known reputation within the professional graphic design community. Can you provide any examples of professional graphic designers or artists who use GIMP, as well as their work?

Minimal was in reference to your photo-manipulation work; we were discussing a graphic designer's hand-painted professional work to a photo of a ladybug on a leaf.

OK I give you that. I just wanted to show off my page also.
But in regards to my avatar/case badge artwork. There is a lot of detail work put into them even if they do seem so minuscule.

I am not sure... but I imagine plug-ins or scripts could accomplish many of the special tasks that are in PhotoShop. I do not know what 'smart objects; or 'smart selections' are though.

    Re: G.I.M.P. Vs Photoshop throwdown

Really, both are GREAT programs. I feel GIMP does less, however, what it DOES do is better than what Photoshop can do, which is a broad range of things. Fore example, you could make a layout in GIMP with glossy effects and EVERYTHING (very simple to do so to boot), but with Photoshop finished products tend to look very generic. It really depends on what you're doing that makes one program better than the other. And, an example would be, it is incredibly hard to make a good-looking beard on someone in GIMP. However, in PS, you can.

The OP is not asking for examples of work made in both programs.

He is asking about specific features available in one program but not in the other.

I'm trying PHP, so my code can probably be labelled "bad and insecure"
