samsung gt-s5230 mounted, but libraries appear empty

I got a new phone for christmas, a samsung gt-s5230, when i connect it to my laptop as a mass storage device there appears to be nothing in any of the libraries. I can copy an image from the laptop into these folders and the item will appear on the phone. But even these are hidden, or smt, when i re-connect to the laptop.

I'm relatively new to ubuntu, so any help would be great.
I am using Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala

Worked it out. All my images were saved to the phone and not the memory card.
All I had to do was move everything to the memory card.
