I don't consider any single operating system to be better than any other operating system. But I'll say my favorite OS, and why I prefer it:
Ubuntu. Why? Because it's free, it has some really awesome software available for it (Compiz, anyone?), it uses a packaging system that works well for me, and it has a really great community.

I like ubuntu cause i feel like im in control, and its FREE. Windows has good compatibility only because we like in a microsoft world.

Ubuntu, honestly, is not that great an OS.
The support on these forums is excellent, though, which is the main reason I use Ubuntu.

I think, GNU/Linux is the best OS for me, because I like control, reasonable security, using terminal for automating different tasks and like the whole open-source idea. Besides, I like debian-like packaging system and there's a great deal of good documentation to almost everything. Last but not least, programming is made easy.

I totally agree with this. Ubuntu is only as good as its community. So far so good. These forums are the best around.Ubuntu, honestly, is not that great an OS.
