If somebody could shed some light on this for me that'll be greatly appreciated.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 (GNOME 2.28.1) and everything was running just peachy.... until I had to replace my cd/dvd rom on my desktop machine. So as any sane person would do I visited my local computer store, picked up and (later) install my new IDE cd/dvd rom. easy
However now, with my new cd/dvd rom installed for some reason whenever I open, put in a cd and close the cd/dvd rom I lose everything! All my applications that I have open close and I lose all my desktop icons. And I don't know why???
I've tested it in Windows and it works fine so I'm utterly lost on this one. So again, if any anybody has any idea's, I'm open.
