    Plants vs. Zombies vs. ubuntu

    Hello all!

I've been running ubuntu since about June, and I have to say I love it and its stability.

I heard that by using WINE, one can install the new Plants Vs. Zombies (PvZ)game. Well, I downloaded the trial version and tried opening it up using wine, but once at the installation screen, it just gets to one bar of installation and says "aborted" and tells me that if I try to run it, it won't work.

Does PvZ not work at all on linux now that we've moved on over to Karmic, or are there some configurations on wine that would allow me to raise a zombie-fighting, chlorophyll-having garden in peace?

    Thanks.

The game seems to be getting generally decent ratings with wine. Have you had a look here ?

I run the full Plants vs Zombies fine on my 9.04 box, having bought the game. The full version should work fine, so all I can say is just buy the game.

Start the installation from the console and see what the problem is.

Plants vs Zombies wouldn't install properly for me until I used winetricks (Google for it) to install the vcrun2008 library. Then it worked.
