I Want my laptop CPU Freq. to automatically run at full speen when on AC power

Here's the deal. There is an applet that will let me change my CPU freq. when it's plugged into an AC outlet. The thing requires me to input my password each time.

In an older version, I used to be able to have it default to the highest CPU freq. every time the thing was plugged into the wall. How can i do that in 8.10?

I know it's possible to edit this setting somewhere, but I can't find it.

    Thanks.

I don't think that would be a good idea. Why would you want that? Do you expect to gain anything from it?

Does the application still exist? You might be able to manipulate some event scripts in /etc/apm.

It's a good idea for me... Does your desktop require you to change settings on boot-up to get performance? That laptop stays plugged in all the time when it use, just like a desktop.

So I don't have to immediately select it from the CPU scaling applet and type in my password to get it to stick.

It it, I've seen it in a script somewhere before, but I don't know exactly where it is, or how to use it. That's why I was asking for help.

That looks like it. However, there used to be a section for when running AC vs BATT. I wanted some guidance so I don't hose the thing. I guess since you have pointed me to the correct file again (I couldn't recall, and couldn't find the info myself, I guess I worded my search incorrectly) I'll figure it out by trial and error.

Thanks so much for your help.

Your welcome. Hope you get it sorted out. Post back if you do. I'd like to here what the answer is. I didn't even know you could change it between AC and battery.
