    Ubuntu Drivers for Compaq

I have a Compaq CQ50 106AU laptop. I've recently had a taste for Linux and would like to join the Linux Community. Can someone please tell me where I can get the necessary drivers for my laptop to run on Ubuntu?

The drivers for your laptop should be installed with the OS.
The wifi card (broadcom BCM4312 I believe) may be a problem, but can be got to work.
I would suggest you try running Ubuntu from live cd & check hardware function out before you install.

90% of the time in Linux, you won't need to go chasing down drivers like you do in Windows. Often, the only support you need to go hunting for is wifi and/or graphics. Everything else "just works".
