    Virus like behavior

I have a post in another thread invilving nautilus deleting files and folder to Trash if renamed. NOW i decided to install a different file manager to test a theory.

I install dolphin. preformed the same renaming exercise and the same thing happened. error reading that the folder being renamed doesn't exist. been moved or deleted. SO this says this system not software.

Then!!!! (note: i have a standard Ubuntu 9.10 install with no extras installed but two) the system returns another error saying that my disc is low on space with a mere 86.5MB left on a 6.5 GB partition! My disc is 98.8% full on a standard Ubuntu partition with crossover, nero linux and fl studio 9. loaded.

does this behavior sound like a replication of files in root causing the drive to fill up. because isn't a standard install like 2GB?
