Marked as Solved, but is it?

    General question:
an issue in Laptops forum http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...85#post8690385 is marked as solved, but I don't think it really is. It is perhaps solved for one BIOS version, but not for others.

What to do in this case?
    Thanks.

Re: Marked as Solved, but is it?

The thread can only be marked as solved by the person who started it. If it is marked, it means he or she has the issue sorted out, so there is probably a solution that worked for that particular case in there somewhere. Either that, or they have found a solution elsewhere or just given up.

The solved tag has no bearing on any general issue or bur that may have been the cause of the specific problem.

If this didn't solve your particular problem, you can start a new thread pertaining to your specific issue.

    Thanks audiomick and synapsis
I'll hold off starting a new thread for the time being. Info gets scattered all over. I PM'd both OP and respondent alerting them.

The thread starter can mark it as "solved" under "Thread Tools"
