    Lightweight Browser

I'm running a headless server and using NX nomachine to connect to it when I need to run graphical programs. Firefox is too slow to run, can anyone suggest a faster browser to use.

Try elinks, or if you want a gui, maybe something like epiphany.

    Re: Lightweight Browser

    I like links2, a command line browser.

Galeon and Epiphany are lightweight GTK browsers.

    Re: Lightweight Browser

Should have specified. I would like something graphical, as I use elinks when I'm just connecting over ssh.

    Re: Lightweight Browser

I'm using the beta Chrome, and it seems to be pretty light and may even replace Firefox for my personal browsing needs.

links2 is a graphical or text command line browser when run from an xterminal. I think you have to install some image program such as feh.

    Re: Lightweight Browser

When installing epiphany, what is contained in the epiphany-extensions package?

    Re: Lightweight Browser

    From Synaptic's bottom right pane:

Adds extra features to GNOME's Epiphany web browser, including action, adblocking, auto-reload, auto-scroller, console, extensions manager, find, greasemonkey, javaconsole, mouse gestures, move tabs between windows, python-console, pushscroller, rss extension, error viewer and validator, certificate viewer, sidebar, smart bookmarks, page info, CSS Stylesheet, favicon.ico, tab states and a GNOME Dashboard interface.

Canonical does not provide updates for epiphany-extensions. Some updates may be provided by the Ubuntu community.
