Need Howto Upgrade Java 1.4.2
Hi All,
I have an old version of Java (1.4.2) that I installed manually quite a while ago (a year?). I would like to upgrade to a newer version of Java (1.5.x). How do I go about doing this? (a) Uninstall Java 1.4.2 and then install 1.5.x? (b) Install 1.5.x over 1.4.2 (doubt that this is really an option)? I prefer not to use Automatix at this time just because my system started as Warty and upgraded via 'dist-upgrade' first to hoary and then again to breezy (definitely not a fresh install). Plus, it is good if I learn to how to this manually..... It would be much appreciated if someone can suggest how to do this...... Dr. Hood
