No sound with PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio

Hello, I just installed ubuntu 9.10 last night, and I am trying to get sound to work, but it isn't working .
I go to sound preferences and click on my sound card ( instead of internal b/c I don't have it) and when I try to play a youtube video there is no sound... Then, I hover my mouse over the sound icon in the top taskbar and it says 'Internal Audio Digital Stereo' which, obviously is not my sound card.

I heard there are experimental drivers for this card, is there such thing? If there is, how do I get them?

Please help! I can't live without sound!

I think you need third party drivers for the X-FI card. I haven't tried such a card, but System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers?
