VBox, shared folders and symlinks

Hey all,

Something has just quit working and I'm thinking it's Vbox related. In my setup, I have a folder with various media files in it (pictures, music, movies). I have another folder that I share with my Vbox that has my iTunes library on it. I used to create symlinks in the shared folder to only those files in the folder I wanted to show in iTunes and it worked great. If I wanted to remove it from iTunes I just deleted the link and it left the original file alone.

For some reason since upgrading to VBox 3.1 from 3.0, iTunes will no longer add the media file to the iTunes library if it's symlinked. It shows the "Processing" dialog for all the symlinked files but unless I make a real copy of the media file in the shared folder it will no longer actually list it in the library.

Any ideas?
