how to change theme/icons for amarok1.4(kde 3 kcontrol needed)

I managed to install 1.4 amarok finally using
https://edge.launchpad.net/~bogdanb/+archive/amarok14/

But it appears in the default kde3 themes and colors and icons
I can't find any kcontrol or other way to change the theme.

Isn't Amarok 1.4 quite old? Why not install the latest version (2.2.2.0) ?

Yes it is but many users still prefer to use 1.4 as the jump in version was quite profound and 2.0 had notorious stability issues. (I'm using 2.2-GIT)

Can't you install themes direct into amarok using the theme manager?
