I'm having a weird problem with my web server machine since upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic. I administer this machine using VNC, and since the upgrade, VNC sessions freeze randomly. The machine is still up, still serving web pages and accepting mail; I can physically go to it and have access that way, I just can't get the VNC session to wake up. This problem only happens with the 2.6.31 kernel. If I drop back to the 2.6.28 kernel everything is fine. This is my workaround for now.

I see that there's a well known bug out there since Jaunty where VNC won't work with Compiz. This is not that bug; it's something else. I'm not using Compiz on the server. It's Intel video, if that makes a difference.
