ffmpeg and if you need a graphical version, WinFF.
If the only reason you think your software is better is because it's FOSS, you need to write better software
Try using Soundconverter thats what I use to do this
I agree with the recommendation for Sound Converter. It's super easy to use and converts basically anything to anything.
System76 Darter Ultra gen3, 12" Glossy LCD
Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo, 2.53ghz
4gb DDR2 SDRAM; 250gb, 7200rpm, SATA HDD
Intel X4500 Graphics Card
be sure to get soundconverter and not soundkonverter. soundkonverter is unable to convert to mp3
Keep your important files in HOSTS when ubuntu is installed with WUBI
How to install ANYTHING in Ubuntu!
'No PUB KEY' error? Try this!
Thank you sooo much! Sound converter works perfectly and it is extremely simple.
Excuse me if I`m wrong about this, but I take it you want to convert flac to mp3 so that you can put the song(s) on an mp3 player.
If you load your mp3player with banshee, it will convert it for you.
This saves you having 2 copies of your music library. Actually I mean 3 copies because you have a backup.

Is it me or ubuntuforums are having problem? It seems last new thread was created 8 hours ago in absolute beginner section and my user Control panel is not updating Subscriptions. Are you having the same problems mate? Thanks
You came empty handed, that is how you shall leave. Whatever you claim as yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, will be someone else's tomorrow.
Indeed, it seems only existing thread may be responded to.. and new posts aren't visible, even though they do exist, I guess.
Pretty strange.
And the quote button doesn't work either.
Yeh! it seems there is a problem with forums. But i can't find any announcement or notification of this?
