Question Netbook Launcher in Startup Applications

Hi, please bear over with me if this is a stupid question (I only installed Ubuntu yesterday afternoon): If I uncheck the item "Netbook Launcher" (see pic) from Startup Applications, will this result in getting a "regular" desktop or will it cause me to effectively have no UI at all?

I'm new to Ubuntu and not feeling brave about experimenting yet.

Re: Netbook Launcher in Startup Applications

not a stupid questions at all.

i have unchecked both maximus and netbook launcher on my netbook and it has resulted in a normal desktop.

...of course i did have to add the bottom panel and change a few things in the top panel to get it completely normal. but that is just a few clicks away.

i go back and forth between the 2 quite regularly.... can't make up my mind which i like better.

    ...i just love having choices!!
