Yeah, XP is faster in some regards, Windows 7 is faster in others. Both run faster once you compile your own linux kernel (which I recently learned from these forums), and compile virtualbox (they have instructions on their website). I just wish I could allocate more video memory to my installs. I use the XP install for playing STEAM games which I can't get to work on WINE, vista I have just to help people with troubleshooting windows...which is because I am finding that the more I tune my mentality to linux, the more of windows mental programming slips from my mind lol. I have to look at the OS to tell people "okay click start...run...msconfig..." etc. Windows 7 I installed because by professor is adamant about using windows to take notes, so I opted for windows 7 because it's so much easier than vista, and even though XP is faster in some regards, windows 7 runs easier (more user friendly). Either way, when he's not looking I minimize the window and browse the web with firefox on ubuntu lol.
