Thumbs down 9.10 graphic card installation problem

I just installed 9.10 onto a new partition(no previous ubuntu) with my BIOS set to load first the integrated graphics, and ubuntu ran fine, then it recognized that i have an nvidia card(i do) and i let it install the restricted driver and rebooted to make the change in the BIOS, telling to load the agp first, i plugged in the monitor in the card, ubuntu wouldnt start...
Switched back to load first integraded graphics in BIOS, plugged in the monitor in the motherboard and ubuntu started in low graphics mode.
The problem is that now it doesnt recognize any of the 2 adapters, i mean i have GUI but cannot change the resolution.
    ANy help appreciated.
I wish i could install my nvidia graphic card.
