    Logitech Webcam C200 + Skype + Jaunty

Jaunty Jackelope 9.04. on a Dell desktop.

Installed Skype and plugged in Logitech Webcam C200 this morning. The webcam works on the Skype test video, but when I make a test call it does not record sound.

This is the first time I've used a webcam/Skype. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Which version of Skype are you using?
See if you can hear it using sound recorder? Applications -> Multimedia -> Sound Recorder

    Install PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol).

Start it up and go to "Recording" tab,

now run "Skype Test Call" and you will see that another "Gnome volume Control Dialog" will appear,

choose your device (if you don't know what is what try to talk all the time and keep on switching available options)

when the call is over you'll hear yourself and smile, enjoy.

Thanks to both of you for replying. I've actually solved the problem by upgrading to 9.10 and the used the System - Preferences - Sound tab.

    Everything is Hunky Dory now.
