Would like to get started on board game

Hello all, I am a huge fan of monopoly, and played Atlantik a few years back. However it nor gtkatlantik are updated anymore. Gtkatlantic is buggy, and atlantik is made on kdelib 3.5.

I know some very basic Ruby, I can code RoR, PHP, and some Gambas.

However, I was interested to see if anyone knows of software that would make creating a network game of Monopoly or Clue easier, such as a prebuilt engine or sdk?

Also, if anyone else is working on a similar project, I am interested in joining in.

I recall a post re. a rewrite of Monopoly and Atlantik. May have been in the "Gaming and Leisure" board. Someone was drawing the gfx for the author. I can't find it unfortunately. Hunt around.
