sis cpu generic init being used

I'm setting up a ltsp server with some neoware thin clients and some of them have sis cpu's in them, when the client boots I get a message saying "CPU:unknown vendor sis, using generic init: system may be unstable"
Everything loads up but it is very very slow. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes to boot. How can I add support for this cpu? Is that an option if I recompile the kernel?

    Thanks for the help
It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

You are having issues? Must be something else. Anyway.
