or you can lift the stylus out of the tablet's range (1-2 inches) and put it back, at which point it functions normally until you next click.

I fixed it although i'm not sure how. the last thing i did was change both instances of MatchDevicePath in 70-wizardpen.conf to "/dev/input/event6"

I've been playing with it for hours but apparently this was the magic combination.

I had the same problem, spending whole day on the net. Having ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) and Waltop family (G-Pen F610) tablet, for me the magic trick was to remove
    MatchTag "wizardpen"
    from 70-wizardpen.conf file.
    Now it looks like:
    Code:
    Section "InputClass"
       Identifier "wizardpen"
       MatchIsTablet "on"
       MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"

       Option "BottomY" "12500"

Re: HOWTO INSTALL WIZARDPEN DRIVER FOR iball TABLET

Just to report. I'm using Debian Squeeze.

I used the wizardpen driver from doctormo's ppa for Ubuntu Lucid. It installed flawlessly.

I also followed the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/TabletSetupWizardpen

But I couldn't get my tablet (UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U) to work correctly. The pointer stayed at top left of the screen.

What else did I do to make it work? I noticed the following lines in my Xorg.0.log:

(**) UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U: Applying InputClass "evdev pointer catchall"
(**) UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U: Applying InputClass "evdev tablet catchall

That meant it didn't match the InputClass specification that was in the howto, and used a generic one. So I commented the "MatchVendor" line in the InputClass section, restarted X, and it started working.

I hope this helps someone else.

    I can't get my UC-LOGIC Tablet WP8060U to work with 10.10.

I followed your guide and when I try to save the .fdi file a message appears saying that this file does not exist.

    What can I do?

Karmic is the last release of Ubuntu that uses HAL/.fdi. Starting with Lucid things change to xorg.conf.d/.conf file.

You probably need a keyword for the match with MatchProduct to place it on the WizardPen driver. Enter in a terminal:
    Code:
    xinput list
The line that has your tablet will have keyword(s) you can use for the match in the 70-wizardpen.conf
