How to install VIA Graphics drivers

Hello

I have a 8.9" netbook with a fresh install of UNR. The display is all garbled but when I plug in an external monitor it works.

How can I get the VIA graphics drivers installed as it appears there not.

Or

Is there a working alternative to UNR? That will work and make me and my netbook happy?

Unfortunately I have had to install windows xp back on this. I had hoped ubuntu would work but it didn't run correctly on this device out-of-the-box. I know that driver issues are present here so it's not ubuntu's fault.
