    Ubuntu Server 9.10 (Karmic): grub2: error: invalid magic number

    After installing karmic I am getting what appears to be some type of grub2 error:

    Code:
    error: invalid magic number

  Failed to boot default entries.

Press any key to continue...
    I reran 'update-grub' as well as reran the bootloader install. Same problem.

    Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
