    Re: new xf86-input for macbooks and other multitouch-touchpads.

    I installed this and the multitouch works great. However, I enjoyed the two finger scroll that was used on my Macbook that came with Ubuntu (in the mouse settings). Now after I installed this I am using this as my two finger scroll. The reason I hate this one is because it is really really really slow compared to the other one. Is it possible I can disable the two finger scroll from this xf86 input so I can go back to using the default two finger scroll? I hope that makes sense.

    Maybe someone could add this to the start post.

    But I got this error:

    Code:
    philipp@philipp-laptop:~$ modprobe -r bcm5974
    philipp@philipp-laptop:~$ modprobe bcm5974
    FATAL: Error inserting bcm5974 (/lib/modules/2.6.32-24-generic/updates/dkms/bcm5974.ko): Operation not permitted
    Any idea now?

    It seems you have to be root to do that, put "sudo " before each command.
    I didn't notice it, as I always use root when playing in the terminal
    NiñoScript.age = new Number(16); //(>^;^<)
    (Wow, I did that signature when I was 16… I'm 20 now… it's sad to see how I'm slowly getting old u.u)

    Code:
    philipp@philipp-laptop:~$ sudo modprobe -r bcm5974
    [sudo] password for philipp:
    philipp@philipp-laptop:~$ sudo modprobe bcm5974
    But it still doesn't work, trying to restart later.

    Is there a way to make 2 finger scrolling to skip more steps? It is much harder to scroll with this enable than the one by default. But I do enjoy the multitouch. Also sometimes at startup after wifi connects my mouse freeze and I have to log off and log back on.. its a bit annoying.

    Try changing
    Code:
    static const float vscroll_fraction = 0.05;
    in driver/multitouch.c

    Cheers!

    Hi, it does.
    I'm currently using it because of click-to-drag funcionality.
    However, I've lost tap-to-click (but I think I can enable it) and the graphical touchpad configuration tool.

    does anyone have a working variant of this driver for lucid and its respective kernel version?

    i just pulled a total noob move and install this one for use with the bcm5974 driver and, epic fail, my mousepad stopped working and i had to reinitialise the SMH config with no mouse lol

    You just need bcm5974 from the mactel-support repo (which is available for Lucid).

    Wellllllllllll call me a big throbbing noob, but I tried to add the mactel repo last night and it basically would let me access the packages. Maybe I'm a re-tard. Or just Linux dumb. Which is more likely lol

    also, this driver is just for the Linux system ya? In other words, it won't replace the driver on my mac side like a firmware replacement, ya?
