    Skype in Ubuntu

Has anyone succeeded in getting Skype (the 32-bit version for Ubuntu 8..10+) working in Ubuntu 910. I have it working in Kubuntu and Xubuntu Karmic, but can't get any audio (mic or speakers) in Ubuntu 9.10. I have tried removing pulse audio, but no joy.

I installed skype using the medibuntu repository in 9.10. I then set under System -> Preferences -> Sound I set the proper mic and output started Skype and no problems here.

You may also need to look at the Skype Options themselves, Options>Sound devices and now select for Sound In, Sound Out etc. When I switched from a standard mic to an integrated webcam/mic I needed to alter these settings. I found Sound In set to USB device, Sound Out to Pulse and Ringing to Pulse works for me. These is a test button on this screen as well.

I'm running it, and it seems to work fine.
