Weird resume problems on Acer 1810T

Hi,
Having a 1810TZ I got the same issue with booting forever and I fixed it by changing in BIOS HD type to IDE from AHCI.

I have bios 3115

Where did you get your BIOS upgrades? I would assume acer's site, but they didn't have much info there, at least not for my model (Aspire 7740-6656). My computer won't come back from sleep at all. It looks like its about to, backlight seems to turn on, then it hangs. Also, I'm having some trouble with the brightness. Using fn and the right and left arrows, I get the little brightness indicator pop up in the upper left of my screen, but the brightness doesn't actually change. Any tips?
