Firefox 3.5 Shiretoko crashes when browsing Google

This happens whenever I go to a Google page that has a script running, be it Gmail or Google Video search. I can just block Javascript, and it doesn't crash, but I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and if they know any other workaround. I am using Ubuntu 9.04.

EDIT: I just remembered installing some updates, so maybe it has something to do with that since this is a recent development. Closing Firefox, and clearing the Cache has no effect.

EDIT2: No, installing Chronium or another browser is not the solution I am looking for.

Yep, I have a bunch of them.

Because it slows down page loading, makes Firefox unresponsive and sometimes causes crashes. Not to mention privacy concerns. Besides, using NoScript is a better security solution in my opinion.

It's not about the page taking forever to load, it's that as soon as I log into Gmail or do a video search, the entire Firefox closes. I see the page, can almost click something, and maybe can even follow a link, but within 15 seconds the entire Firefox is closed. Up until the point where the whole page closes, everything looks fine and the page loads quickly and normally.

I know that. I was just giving you the reasons why I disable it, which also includes Firefox crashes and unresponsiveness.

Tried that, but it seems to have no effect.

Try to disable Java, not javascript and also optimize the databases.
