I think the flashing number is used if you "flash" the modem. Flashing means changing the software inside the modem parang palitang ang laman ng RAM.

Unlocking the old Smartbro (E1553 white color) is easier just put the unlock code, yes tattoo sucks

oh btw Smartbro is getting smart now, they followed what globe did:

modems can not be unlocked / flashed!

If the dashboard (can be viewed on a m$ system) is new, yung may sandbox.. patay di na pwedi ma unlock yan.
