    Thanks for telling me about qtcurve, Installed it and applied it in KDE. Now for something blue in GNOME.

    Awesome! I use to run the gnome panel in kde by typing gnome-panel in a terminal, but I would be stuck with the stupid terminal and could not close it out. Thanks for the fix niccholaspage.

    An easier way to run something without a terminal is just hitting alt + F2 and typing the command there. If you need it run as root, use gksudo, or whatever the KDE one is (ksudo?).

    That way it'll run and you don't need a terminal.

    The real perfect mix is xfce with compiz:
    Resource maximized to performance with a really good reason: eyecandy (with windget and cairo-dock)
