Sound Icon replacing other icons in the application taskbar.

It tends to happen most with the network icon, but it also happens with the power off menu icon. The problem is these icons then lose their functionality. I have no idea what's causing it, but it only started happening after the upgrade to 9.10. Any ideas?

Well, rest assured you're not going completely mad. I'm getting the same thing on 9.10, 32-bit, fresh installs. Its usually after a reboot, the network-manger icon disppears and is replaced with a second volume settings icon, which often shows a different volume level to the first. I can easily fix this by just deleting the system tray applet and re-adding it, but its annoying.
