    Hi All,
got a GTH 661/s, pen eraser, and buttons working on Karmic. however,
touch is not working, in spite of LED reacting.
I checked the blogs but as a newbie maybe I am just clueless - sorry.
    Grateful for any hints.

ok, used the issue -wacom touch was captured by synaptics driver. Solved issue due to post #875thanks to Favux for his good description, bugfix and working fdi.

trying now to fix bamboo touch losing track on faster movements...

    Hi maracaib0,

    Welcome to Ubuntu Forums!

Glad the Synaptics fix worked for you. Good find!

    Are you using linuxwacom 0.8.6?

    Hi h2osoriano,

    Welcome to Ubuntu Forums!

I wouldn't recomment going to Lucid yet. Ping just submitted a Gestures patch for the P & T's for xf86-input-wacom. Right now I don't think xf86-input-wacom supports the P & T's too well, esp. on gestures. Once the patch is accepted and committed then you can clone the git repostitory for the X driver xf86-input-wacom for Xserver 1.7 and compile a recent linuxwacom, say 0.8.6, for the usb kernel module. See the linuxwacom HOW TO for what to do.

The above is if you want the most complete fuctionality available. I don't know for sure if the stylus and single finger touch work out of the box in Lucid with xf86-input-wacom 0.10.6 and the default wacom.ko (the usb kernel module). It may well.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch Series Development

    Back after a break.

The first post says to use linuxwacom 0.8.5-10 or 0.8.5-11; however, the latest release is 0.8.5-12, which means the older versions aren't available anymore. Could someone upload an older version, or is -12 fine, too?

ETA: Never mind, found the link in the first post to the old version...

Installing the package from these page made my Bamboo Pen & Touch work in Lucid (even with the touch pad ).

I wasn't as lucky as jpbouza...
I installed the Wacom Bamboo a few times in 9.10. Working fine, but had to re-install after every kernel update.
Unfortunately I spend Sunday afternoon (using the well known post (link) trying to get the thing to work again in Lucid. I can't get it to work again. Any special solution for 10.04?

    Hi _Apollo_,

    Welcome to Ubuntu forums!

The solution was also posted by munooka on the first Bamboo P&T thread "New Wacom Bamboo not working" post 782. It has been incorporated into the linuxwacom HOW TO.

    Hope this helps.
