ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint: problems after login

    Hi Ubuntu users,

As someone accustomed to the thinkpad laptop keyboards I recently purchased Lenovo's ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint (UK English). The device is plugged into my work machine which is a Dell Desktop.

All the key-mappings appear fine at the login screen.

Once I login however, the mapping goes haywire with numbers/symbols mapped onto right hand letter keys.

Experimenting with different layouts with the gnome tool doesn't help. The trackpoint moves around and is fine, the letter mapping for right hand keys is broken.

I cant seem to find a fix!

Please offer any assistance, its a damn nice keyboard.

Re: ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint: problems after login

This problem is not essentially the keyboard, it tested fine on an earlier version of Ubuntu (8.04).

It seems that this is a problem with how the xserver deals with it?

Are there any other similar circumstances where such plugin devices have come undone with Ubuntu Jackolope & Karmic?

Anyone with similar experiences - please offer some advice

Easily solved: disable numlock! ie Fn+NmLk !
