    S.C.I.M. in openoffice.org

Good evening guys (or good morning )

For some reason, S.C.I.M. (Smart Common Input Method) does not work in openoffice.org, while it works fine in gedit.
I find this quit annoying, does somebody here have an idea how I can get scim-anthy to work in OO.org?

    Thanx!

How are you using Scim in Gedit? Are you needing to right-click on the window and choose Scim manually?

If so, then you may need to install scim-bridge-client-gtk and follow the instructions in this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1267584

Your profile shows that you are running Jaunty. If you've upgraded to Karmic, the procedure is a bit different.
BACKUPS are unsexy — until you discover you should have done one yesterday.
Spare your nerves and do one before you upgrade or install.

Thanx for the reply, I was asleep when you posted it.

And I was asleep when you posted your reply I should still be now, but it's not happening.

Anyway, if you are in Karmic, details are here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...90&postcount=3

The little grey icon doesn't show in the system tray like it used to, but that doesn't seem to matter.

There may not be much more that I can do to help, but I'll try a couple of diagnostic things first.

Could you post the output of the following commands:

    Code:
    echo $GTK_IM_MODULE
    Code:
    ls -l ~/.xinput.d
    Code:
    locale | grep "LANG="

Thanx for the help, but it is working now. Rebooting the pc somehow fixed the problem, apparently

You're welcome. Glad to hear that it's working.

Usually, logging out and in again is enough to enable the changes, but rebooting would have the same effect.
