    Tesla

is anyone succesfully pairing one with linux?

i know you have to write your own code for it, but im hoping that maybe one of the cad/simulation programs im looking into will support it in the future (lots of fluid dynamics/simulated windtunnel...thats a whole lotta power..

(by the way, i design liquid/gaseous flow systems and computations on this junk i got take FOREVER!!)

Hrm? Are you referring to nvidia's Tesla? I don't think any sane person would, or should ever run anything heavy on Windows. There is always Jacket http://www.accelereyes.com/ which should cover most of the linear algebra operations.

    Re: Tesla

i run FEA and flow sims all the time on windows...i dont like it but its my only choice (no linux support for solidworks) its never crashed on me...but its slow.

yes i was talking about the nvidia tesla. I was hoping someone has started working with CUDA or maybe even openGL but Im not sure. im just now getting into all of this. i know its been around for alittle while. i might just get a quadro, but i still need to be able to implement CUDA on it, or im right back to where i started with simulations that take forever.

You confused me a bit, as I first thought you must mean one of these Teslas. One of them paired with Linux would be a lot of fun!
