Angry Alps Touchpad broken on Acer 5310 running 9.10

I have an Acer 5310 with an Alps touchpad. The touchpad worked in funny way until 9.04 arrived and that was fixed but now with 9.10 it's broken again.
Here is what happens: when I move the pointer around it just random clicks even when I have disabled tapping.

In previous version changing something in xorg.con helped but I can't find that file anymore. Most of the times that didn't work either. I like 9.10 very much but I miss my touchpad

I anyone can help pleeeeeeeese do!

    Thanks!

I've had this problem too on 9.04 and ran into it again on 9.10 (Mint Gloria) therefor I'm running 9.04 (Mint 7) again. I haven't tried the GRUB arguments as mentioned in http://newyork.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=929603 on 9.10. Maybe it'll help.
