    TV schedules in the U.S.

I've never been anywhere else in the U.S. except my own timezone, so I'm quite curious, do all the nationally broadcast T.V. stations say, "10/9 Eastern/ Central"?

Also, how do things work on nationally broadcast Hawaiian and Alaskan channels? How off is the time?

Like for sports and awards, stuff like that?

I don't understand that statement, especially when it comes to TV shows and movies.

    It's usually given as either "10 Eastern/9 Central" or "10 Eastern/7 Pacific"

Here in Anchorage, shows come on at the same time of our day that they do in the Central Time Zone, only three hours later.

For example, Heroes aired at 8:00 Eastern / 7:00 Central yesterday. However, in Alaska, it also aired at 7:00PM our time, which would be 11:00 Eastern / 10:00 Central.

For Alaska and Hawaii, they have to show programs after all the other time zones so that we can still watch the shows at around the same time of the day as we would in the continuous US.

I should clarify. 10E/7P is used for live events, and 10/9C is used for recorded events. That is, it is shown at 10 Eastern (9 Central), then again at 10 Pacific. I'm not sure about Mountain time.
