As far as I can tell, this problem persists in 10.04. I did a clean install of the beta and a clean install of the release candidate, and I have random freezes.

This may be a different problem (in 9.10 my / partition was remounted readonly, now I get a complete freeze of display, mouse and keyboard), but I am disappointed because versions up to 8.10 have run absolutely perfectly. I have the exact same symptoms on another laptop identical to this one, but not on desktop machines.
