So does Amarok, Audacious, Exaile plus some other players I might forget to mention.
However while I use Amarok, I depend on its GStreamer Phonon backend just so that I can see the Moodbar working, which disables the equalizer because it works only with the Xine backend.
So things like these will be a useful thing for me to use
To the creator of this equalizer, a lot of thanks from me to you. Now my Windows audio experience is back in Ubuntu, and I can keep forgetting to pick Windows everytime I come to the GRUB screen upon booting up my laptop!
There were slight quirks (especially a bit of cracking and noise while changing volumes, and it took quite some time for the equalizer to sense changes on the volume control), but otherwise it works without much of a hitch. I believe this is something that'll get improved every release!

******WARNING******
Do NOT install this software, it will mess up your system completely!
Not a fair assessment. It may have been a problem for you, although I am sure it was probably more than this script, but we may never know if you do not say what went wrong.
I have this running on 5 of my own machines and I know of it installed on at least 20 more, all without incident.
I use it every day and and swear by it. it has always been a great enhancement to my sound system(s)
this software worked for me in 9.10, 10.04 and (with different ppa) 10.10. Thank god for this program. My audio sounds as hollow as....something very very hollow, otherwise
I'm trying to figure out why the volume gets jacked up to max output (100) when the EQ is reset. The EQ itself is not changing -- only the volume level that's terrified my neighbors this Vegas morning
Someone else noted this issue as well <http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9108426&postcount=8>.
Are my pulseaudio settings off or is it my hardware? What info do I need to give y'all to figure this out?
Right now I'm running the EQ on UbuntuStudio Lucid (AMD 64-bit).
Thank-you, I really want an EQ along these lines.Code:$ cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [SB ]: HDA-Intel - HDA ATI SB HDA ATI SB at 0xfe024000 irq 16 1 [M1x1 ]: USB-Audio - MidiSport 1x1 M-Audio MidiSport 1x1 at usb-0000:00:12.0-1, full speed
