Another interesting note. In addition to making my regular desktop box a righteous rock machine; I've also installed this on an eeepc where I am running the Karmic Netbook Remix.

This little guy was really producing some, truly, weak sound, but now with the PulseAudio Equalizer script, I can pump up and adjust the audio on that sucker (4G 701) and really push those tiny speakers, and so now can listen to good streaming net audio in the kitchen while I'm cooking, or streaming internet news radio stations when I shower...

Gasp! I fear I have shared too much! Hahahaha!

    Cheers!

The sound on whatever setting-classical.pop,softrock is really tinny and awful. I have an Audiologu sound card and medium priced £70 Logitech speakers with subwoofer/ Also its really tinny on my N130 Netbook too.

The AlSA Gamix mixer seems much better? Or am I doing something wrong??.

do you have "gnome-alsamixer" installed? You may have your PCM setting too high, which will produce some distortion at high app volumes. There are, honestly, a lot of things that could be causing that.

Sometimes there are several sound system sliders controlling the volumes of system sound. I like to go into gnome-alsamixer, PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol), and the other volume/mixer controls on my system. I set all of the output, PCM and other relevant sliders down to about 50% to make sure nothing is "spiking" and then go into the "new" Pulseaudio Equalizer and do my "fine tuning" in there...

Also, if you use a microphone or other input device, I would try muting those also, when they are not in use. This sometimes messes with Ubuntu sound, this can be done in the same mixer/volume control apps.

Without a more detailed explanation of your sound system, it is hard to offer more specific help than that. I hope this is helpful on some level though.

    Cheers...

    Re: PulseAudio Equalizer Script

hey! I want to know.. how to uninstalla the script from the computer... I installed it, but got problem changing the volume when I was listening to music..

Now I uninstalled the deb package, but still have the ladspa plugin marked as my default output in the pulseaudio manager.

    Thanks in advance!
