Ubuntu 9.10 not automounting Android sdcard

I have an HTC Hero and prior to version 9.10 when I automounted SDcard on my Hero, in Ubuntu a folder would popup which would display the contents of my sdcard. Not happening anymore. Now I have to mount it manually in the terminal. Same thing happens when I put the microsd card into the sdcard reader on my laptop, nothing happens. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 not automounting USB thumb

I have the same issue. After clean install of 9.10 Ubuntu no longer automatically mounts external USB drives like it did in version 9.04.

I am using the same drives and the same computer. The only difference is the version of Ubuntu. I will post back here if I find a solution.

I've had the same problem and fixed it by installing gnome-volume-manager and rebooting. Everything tickety-boo now.

Even when I installed gnome-volume-manager, automounting in Ubuntu 9.10 still doesn't work for me.
