Sound unmuted after resume

Whenever I suspend my computer with the sound muted, it is unmuted when I resume. I didn't have this problem in Jaunty, but it appeared after I upgraded to Karmic. Any ideas?

Edit: Sound card is Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)

I can confirm the same behaviour after upgrading to Karmic. I have a Thinkpad x31 which uses the Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 01) (acording to lscpi.)
