    Why not ?
There is already one developer who supports the idea, and there are many Linux users who flood their forums asking for a Linux client.
The MacOS client is already in the works, and from there the way to Linux is just one little step.

I am very positive about a Linux client for Torchlight.
And if they wouldn't want to port it themselves, there are others who would (Ryan, LGP, others...).

I have been looking for a game exactly like this for a while now. Its a shame, I would drop 20 on it this minute, but no Linux client, no cash from me anymore.

Uplink and World of Goo was my last 2 purchases just for having a Linux client. I think its kind of sad people must post and prove a Linux client would make money at this point. If the game is any good, it does. This game looks great too.

I've already left them a post suggesting a linux client would be something I'm interested in purchasing. I've just purchased a few more linux based games for my family and am looking at potentially buying a few more. If they exist for linux that is

Guess I'll look elsewhere for a product similar to this (0AD??) and runs natively in linux.

and yes, I'd pay for it if they ported it. I have a nice list of commercial software that runs native in linux (no Wine needed)
Any chance you could share that list? i only have windows cause I'm a gamer, and the games i play (DDO, Torchlight) don't run well at all, even in wine, and would LOVE to find some fun immersive games to play on Linux, so i could finally cut the last MS cord keeping me attached.

You have my vote. I would definitely pay $20 for a linux version.
I haven't used windows for ages and wouldn't consider booting up windows just to play a game.

Re: Torchlight for Linux ? Make your voices heard !

After 9 pages and 174 posts OlaNordmann created a petition for a Linux client for Torchlight : http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/torchlightlinux

I am sure that a Linux client will be made, but they are currently busy with fixing bugs of the Windows version and making the MacOS port.
