    making a new computer

    I was thinking about making a new gaming computer. i heard that steam is coming to linux, so i wanted to know if i should just put linux on my new computer that i was going to built? i'm new to linux but i'm already in love with it and i don't want to waste 140$ on window 7 os.

    If you want a gaming computer, you should dual boot with Windows. Maybe a few years down the road you'll be able to avoid it, but right now, you'd be severely limiting your game choice by going Linux only. Plus, Windows 7 isn't $140, it's $99 for the OEM copy (assuming USD) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116986

    I personally wouldn't be thinking of this yet, as Steam for Linux hasn't been releaed yet either. If you aren't gaming at the moment, then you should just wait. I don't think it's too long until Valve actually release Steam for Linux.
