    Audio and video drivers

I just installed two new pieces of hardware.

    1 a 64 mb video card "NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 AGP 8x 64MB DVI"
2 a sound blaster card "ill have to get exact model"
both are replacing on board versions.

One thing i noticed was no seeming "install" time on startup so im wondering if these are running at peak performance?

The video card did give me more resolution options which is one thing i was after. However, Hulu (this is a media player box) is choppier than it was when i used the on board card. Is this due to higher res?

I there a way to see what drivers im using and what the best are?
    I'm surprised at the choppyness.

    Same question for the audio.
Also do i need to disable the on board card?
I don' really like coffee. I guess I'll give my Ubuntu beans to my wife.

I dont think you will notice any install time on startup. You should see the nVidia splash screen on startup though.

I've found video can get choppier at larger resolutions, you could try dropping it back to what it was as a test.

I would disable both the onboard video and get that 8-64MB back, and the onboard sound. Persoanlly, I disable everything I dont use in BIOS, eg serial ports, parallel ports, etc. but thats not really needed.
