connect Ti89 titanium to intrepid ibex

I Have been searching the web and have yet to find any instructions that allow my ti89 to connect to my computer.

Tried tilp and tilp2 to no avail. tilp always showed a "status:not connected" and tilp2, well i couldn't even get the packages to open right, I don't remember the error sorry.

all the topics I have been reading(the "helpful" ones) are from 08, so maybe there is something else I can do now?

What ever instructions I get from you gracious posters, it would be wonderful if it was: copy such and such into terminal, 1/2 step at a time if not.
