Ubuntu Netbook Remix vs standard version for old laptop

    Hi,
before I upgrade to 9.10 I would just like to know if anyone would recomend me to switch to the UNR instead ? Would the UNR make my old laptop run faster (startup etc) ?

I'm running ubuntu on an old Dell Inspirion 8500 (2GHz, pentium 4, 1GB Ram).

If the main point with the UNR is to make life better with a small screen, I will stick to the standard version since my laptop is big (15" screen).

    Thanks,

Bad Idea. At least it was when I tried it in Jaunty!

My Net-book ran like a sick dog with the UNR desktop mode and I had to switch. Since that's the only thing about UNR, why bother?
Easy Peasy worked well and Maybe Karmic UNR does but if your not going for small screens and you want something a little fatser, try xubuntu.
