Re: Seamonkey 2.0 released, ubuntuzilla needs tweak

hm, ok, so libstdc++5 used to be necessary to run the mozilla builds, but it appears that it is no longer included in karmic (only libstdc++6 is).

i just checked, and it appears that current builds do not require v5, and are fine with just v6, so i removed the libstdc++5 dependency.

please try one of these attached debs.

Yes! that works. Though I cannot link to Firefox plugins. Says to manually link by inputting location. Tried several different locations with no luck.

    ok, so some good news

about plugins: gah, they must have changed something again...
    what's your output for
    Code:
    find /usr/lib -name 'libunixprintplugin.so'
    and for
    Code:
    find /usr/lib -name 'libnullplugin.so'

    find /usr/lib -name 'libunixprintplugin.so'
    Code:
    /usr/lib/songbird/xulrunner/plugins/libunixprintplugin.so

    find /usr/lib -name 'libnullplugin.so'
    Code:
    /usr/lib/songbird/xulrunner/plugins/libnullplugin.so

Weird. I don't recall ever installing Songbird????

    EDIT:
UNINSTALLED Songbird. The output is now blank for both

    hrm...

in that case, say you install the flash plugin - where does it go? does a symlink show up maybe in /usr/lib/xulrunner/plugins, or maybe in /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.3/plugins

I'd forgotten about the plugin-path error. I'd just been hitting enter:

Re: Seamonkey 2.0 released, ubuntuzilla needs tweak

    Dear all,
I am not very experienced with Ubuntu installations (manually) but I did download Seamonkey 2.0 and installed it following the ReadMe Instructions in the downloaded folder.
I managed to install it but failed to make it start from the GNome panel something is wrong in the instructions (or in my mind!) so after all my efforts I still receive something like: "Cannot run child process..." or something similar...
Could somebody give a hint or a tip?
    Thanks,
    Mouratos
