    Try Karmic now, there won't be much more changes made, ATi and Intel work alot better as they have switched the driver (for those that had issues in Jaunty).

    If it still doesn't work, I guess only you decide what to do from here.

    The funniest thing is that I haven't had any problems since 7.x, but now .. it stops working for some reason. I tried Karmic Beta, RC ( daily builds ) - both crashed.

    Hopefully this guy doesn't make a whole new topic about "1 more day until karmic!", and then "Karmic Sucks".

    Then I'll take this opportunity to point you to the second line of my forum signature. There's a higher probability it (openSUSE 11.2) will be stable and usable on your machine because it's had eight months of work put into it, not six, eight.

    Edit: OMG OMG OMG!!!

    That's useful to know. p**s-poor drivers for ATI "legacy" is what turned me off to Jaunty, two weeks post-release.

    If it still doesn't work, I guess only you decide what to do from here.

    Ubuntu != linux

    Also, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. You can't expect someone to use something broken (for them) and keep thinking "I have faith, man!"
    Code:
    while true; do echo -n "RiceMonster "; done

    That is not a bug report ...

    There is no information available to support it...

    As for the most recent version of that driver, here is the changelog for the last change: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...96/comments/29

    Although, the patch doesn't do much for users of the standard kernel (I wrote the patch, I know).
